Lesson objectives

  • Explain email's role in a funnel
  • Distinguish broadcasts from automated sequences

The channel you own

Social reach and ad costs change without warning. Your email list is a direct line to people who asked to hear from you. In most funnels, email is where trust is built between the first visit and the purchase.

Broadcasts vs sequences

  • Broadcasts: one-off emails sent to a list or segment at a chosen time (news, launches, new content).
  • Sequences (automations): a series of emails triggered by an action, such as opting in or buying, sent on a schedule for each person.
  1. Opt-in
  2. Welcome sequence
  3. Nurture broadcasts
  4. Offer sequence
