Lesson objectives

  • Understand SPF, DKIM and DMARC at a practical level
  • Keep a healthy list

Authenticate your domain

SPF, DKIM and DMARC are DNS records that prove your emails really come from you. Most email platforms provide step-by-step setup. Major inbox providers increasingly expect bulk senders to have them in place.

List hygiene

  • Only email people who opted in. Never buy lists.
  • Make unsubscribing easy - it protects your reputation.
  • Regularly remove or re-engage long-term inactive subscribers.
  • Watch complaint and bounce rates in your platform's reports.

Action steps

  1. Check your domain's SPF, DKIM and DMARC in your email platform
  2. Set up a re-engagement segment

Checklist

  • Domain authenticated
  • Unsubscribe link in every email
  • Inactive subscribers handled
