Lesson objectives

  • Evaluate products for fit and quality
  • Avoid reputationally risky offers

Fit first

The best affiliate products solve a problem your audience already has, at a price they can afford, from a company that treats customers well. A high commission on a poor product costs you trust.

Evaluation checklist

  • Have you used it, or researched it thoroughly enough to describe it accurately?
  • Is the company's refund policy fair and clearly stated?
  • Do customer reviews on independent sites raise consistent complaints?
  • Are the programme's terms clear (commission, cookie length, payout thresholds)?
  • Would you recommend it without a commission?

Action steps

  1. Score your top three product candidates on the checklist

Checklist

  • Each product passes the 'would I recommend it anyway?' test
